On Tuesday, June 22, 2010, KPMG Meijburg & Co will host the next U.S. Tax Center roundtable in its series of breakfast meetings. This roundtable will focus on Hiring Incentives to Restore Employment Act.
This roundtable will be held at KPMG’s new office in Amstelveen and will include breakfast. The seminar will be conducted in English.
Target Group
This roundtable is intended for all of our Dutch and English-language contacts from foreign financial institutions, such as banks, qualified intermediaries, hedge funds, or other foreign investment funds/asset managers that have certain U.S. sourced income.
Program
The roundtable will start at 7:45 – 10:00 a.m.
This roundtable will focus on the Hiring Incentives to Restore Employment Act (“HIRE Act”) signed into law on March 18, 2010. The HIRE Act includes provisions of the Foreign Account Tax Compliance Act (“FATCA”), which adds a new withholding regime to the U.S. Internal Revenue Code. The new withholding tax regime under FATCA uses withholding taxes to enforce detailed reporting and disclosure requirements for certain foreign entities that receive U.S. source income. A withholding agent must deduct and withhold a tax equal to 30 percent of any withholding payment made to these foreign entities to the extent they fail to satisfy certain reporting and disclosure requirements with respect to their U.S. accounts.
The roundtable and all related documents will be in English.
